Among the captives was Barra bint al-Harith, the people's chief's daughter; she wrote a contract to free herself and sought the Prophet's help — he paid her contract and married her, naming her Juwayriya. Learning of the marriage, the Muslims released the captives they held, saying 'the Messenger of God's in-laws', and a hundred households of Banu al-Mustaliq were freed by her marriage's blessing — she became the most blessed of women to her people.
