     "markdown": "In 606 AH Sibt ibn al-Jawzi sat in the Great Mosque of Damascus preaching and urging people to jihad. Many locks of hair were gathered there, which women had cut off, and the account recalls the story of Abu Qudama al-Shami and the woman who cut her hair and said, \"Make it a tether for your horse in the cause of God.\" Three hundred hobbles for the mujahidin's horses were made from it. When they were displayed on the pulpit the people cried out, and they cut more like them. When he came down from the pulpit, the governor of Damascus stood up and walked with Sibt, and the people rode out in countless numbers and marched to Nablus to fight the Franks.
