Abd al-Muttalib asked men of Quraysh for support against his uncle, but they said: \"We will not come between you and your uncle\" {cite:mubarakpuri-raheeq p.50}. When Abu Sa'd ibn Adi came with eighty riders and drew his sword on Nawfal, who was sitting in the Hijr with the elders of Quraysh, Nawfal said: \"I have returned it to him,\" and he had the elders of Quraysh bear witness against him {cite:mubarakpuri-raheeq p.50}.
