He was full of gravity, famed for courage, much given to raiding the Franks — he took several fortresses from them — and besieged his brother at Baalbek for a time. But he was an unjust, confiscating tyrant, so his mother plotted and a band of his retainers' wives killed him in the citadel of Damascus in Rabi' I 529; his state had lasted about three years.
