     "markdown": "The Sulayhid state of Yemen — founded by 'Ali b. Muhammad al-Sulayhi, who steeped himself in Isma'ili Batini learning under the da'i 'Amir b. 'Abd Allah al-Rawahi, climbed Mount Maswar in 439 with sixty men sworn to death, then swept the country, took the fortresses, and fixed his kingship at San'a' as da'i to al-Mustansir of Egypt. He gave Tihama to Sa'id b. Shihab when the Sulayhi's wife Asma' bint Shihab weighed out a hundred thousand dinars for her brother. Al-Sulayhi was killed with his brother and a hundred sixty kinsmen at the battle of Mahjam in 473 by Sa'id al-Ahwal b.
